Hello! My name is Rik, and I’m a 24-year-old IT student living in the Netherlands. I manage my own servers for school projects and to further my personal learning. My main focus currently is running servers (like this one), which host vCenter and Docker environments.
These are the projects I am currently working on:
Nextcloud is a cloud-based file server where I store most of my schoolwork. It synchronizes all my files between my laptop and computer.
For a school project, I built a VMware vCenter workspace with two servers. vCenter allows you to manage all the virtual machines (VMs) hosted on both servers.
Plex is an amazing application that lets you stream movies, TV shows, and music to various devices. I use it often since it's supported on most TVs, PCs, and more.
To learn more about networking, I set up a Unifi Network. Unifi offers various network devices that work together seamlessly and are easy to manage via a web GUI or app.
TeamSpeak is one of my most frequently used servers, as I use it daily to communicate and game with friends and classmates.
Docker Swarm allows me to deploy and manage Docker containers efficiently. It also handles load balancing, ensuring smooth operation.
